The naming of the road after Priyanka Chopra’s late father, Dr Ashok Chopra, apparently inconvenienced the local residents of the area. The street has been named as ‘Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ashok Chopra Marg’.
The event grabbed attention as it created nuisance’ for people staying in the vicinity. The road was being revamped and a pandal was being erected till late in the night, much beyond the deadline of 10pm. There were reports that Priyanka built the road but it was built by BMC.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the road on Monday along with PeeCee’s mother, Madhu Chopra, and the actress’ brother Siddharth Chopra.
Late Dr. Ashok Chopra was a renowned surgeon, armyman and philanthropist who lost his battle to cancer last year.
