Mumbai’s Bandra Police have submitted a detailed 1000-page chargesheet to the Bandra court in connection with the stabbing attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
According to officials, the chargesheet contains multiple pieces of evidence against the accused, Shariful Islam. “The forensic lab report confirms that the knife fragments recovered from the crime scene, Saif Ali Khan’s body, and the accused are all parts of the same weapon,” said the Mumbai Police.
Additionally, the chargesheet includes a fingerprint report that matches the accused’s left hand, further strengthening the case.
The attack on Saif Ali Khan took place on January 16, when the accused, Shehzad, allegedly broke into the actor’s Bandra residence in an attempted robbery.
During the attack, Mr. Khan sustained serious injuries, including damage to his thoracic spine and other parts of his body. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent treatment for five days before being discharged on January 21.
Following the attack, security around actor Saif Ali Khan has been significantly heightened. Both Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan have also made a request to the paparazzi, urging them not to photograph their children, Taimur and Jeh, during this sensitive time.
