Bollywood’s very own Nawab, Saif Ali Khan, is no stranger to the limelight. Even in adulthood, Saif hasn’t severed ties with his ancestral roots. He and Kareena last visited the Flag House in 2020 when his aunt, Saleha Sultan, passed away. Known for his down-to-earth demeanor, Saif makes it a point to interact with locals, asking after their well-being and reminiscing about his connection to the city.
The Madhya Pradesh government has invoked the Enemy Property Act, 1968, claiming that properties belonging to the last Nawab of Bhopal fall under state control. This contentious move stems from the migration of Princess Abida Sultan, Saif’s great-aunt, to Pakistan during the Partition.
The Pataudi family has challenged the decision, and the matter is currently under litigation. The legal tussle raises questions about the preservation of royal heritage versus the interpretation of historical legislation.
