At Yerawada Central Prison, 53-year-old actor Sanjay Dutt will be identified as qaidi number 16656. The actor has been to the Pune jail twice but now he is a convict so he will be have to wear jail uniform.
The court has allowed him to get home-made food and has also agreed to his appeal to be provided with a thin mattress and pillow and medicines for a month.According to the sources Dutt is expected to do labour work and is entitled to get a monthly allowance of Rs. 1500 rupees from his family.
The Supreme Court had in March upheld Mr Dutt’s conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case for illegal possession of weapons, including an AK 56 rifle. He has to now serve 42 months in jail as he has already served 18 months 20 years ago, part of it at the Yerawada Jail.
