Early this morning, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake jolted Delhi and its surrounding regions, rousing residents from their slumber. The tremors, which struck at 5:36 am with an epicenter near Durgabai Deshmukh College in Dhaula Kuan, prompted many to evacuate their homes in alarm.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake originated just 5 km below the Earth’s surface, making it more likely to cause damage compared to tremors originating deeper underground. Addressing the situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to remain calm and follow safety precautions.
