Some fun and lesser known facts about your favorite TV series F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a series which is loved by everyone, a television show which took happiness and friendship to another level. Though the show has ended a long ago but we are still not over it. We just cannot stop ourselves from watching it again and again and laughing at the same scenes.
I am sure just like me , many else would also love to know some interesting facts about our favourite series and here are some of them
- In every episode of the series, the word “F.R.I.E.N.D.S” was used at least once.
- The role of Ross was scripted only for David Schwimmer
The producer of the show Kevin Bright had already worked with David, so the writer wrote the script keeping David Schwimmer in mind for the role of Ross. He was the first person who was cast for the show.
- The couple of Rachel-Joey was not decided
For the half of the season, it was not decided that Rachel-Joey will become a couple. Jennifer and Matt Leblanc also did not like playing lovers but they had to do it for the script.
- The whole cast almost kissed each other
Except for Monica and Ross who were siblings, rest of the cast kissed almost each other. Even Joey kissed Chandler. Two more people who never locked lips were Monica-Phoebe.
- Courteney Cox wanted to be friends with Chandler from starting
As soon as the show started Monica wanted to pair up with Chandler only. She said if I would be asked to pair up with someone, it will be Chandler.
- Jennifer was busy for the final season
As her movie career was on point at the same time, she was so busy that she was about to take an exit from the show. But the makers managed to cut down the number of episodes in the last season which made it easy for Jennifer to come for the shooting.
- The whole cast went to Las Vegas before the premiere
One of the directors James Burrows took all the 6 actors on dinner at Las Vegas. He said he had a feeling that the show will be a huge success so he wanted to celebrate.
- Phoebe’s pregnancy was in the script, but Monica’s was not
As per the script, we saw Phoebe acting as surrogate mother for her brother’s kids. But Monica was pregnant in real with her daughter in the final season and as the story line already showed that Monica and Chandler cannot have kids. The makers tried to hide her pregnancy in the best possible manner.
- There is no real Central Perk in New York
The shooting was done in Warner studios and there was no real Central perk café. Though, a fan of the series opened a friend’s theme café in Beijing. Now there are many replicas of Central perk.
- They were the first TV cast who negotiated together
In the starting phase each of them had the same salary, but in season two there was a difference. So, they denied working until they earn the same amount of salary. Usually, not every cast does this.
