Zomato stood against the man who canceled the order just because the delivery boy was a Muslim:
In our society, every person has their own ideas and perception but few have such insane thoughts that are hard to digest by anyone. Following Hinduism strictly is not a problem but what does it really have to do with the food?
Recently a man canceled an order from food app Zomato because the delivery boy who was coming with his meal was not from his religion. Isn’t that weird? In this context, he asked for his refund or send another boy but Zomato denied and took stand for what they felt was write.
He complained to Zomato about how the service had “allocated a non-Hindu rider” to deliver an order. He added that the company said, “they can’t change rider and can’t refund on cancellation”. Infuriated with the cancellation charges, the man threatened the service with legal action.
“@ZomatoIN is forcing us to take deliveries from people we don’t want else they won’t refund and won’t cooperate I am removing this app and will discuss the issue with my lawyers,” the user tweeted.
“Now the history of my latest order has been blocked I asked them to cancel they did it why aren’t they showing details on the site they can show that I ordered cancellation without refund they did so,” he added.

He shared all his conversation with the Zomato’s team and within no time even Zomato shared a tweet “Food doesn’t have a religion. It is a religion.”

Then company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal also weighed in with a tweet in which he stood by the company’s decision. “We are proud of the idea of India – and the diversity of our esteemed customers and partners. We aren’t sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values,” he wrote.
Proud of you 👍🇮🇳👍
