Stay away from Dengue and Chikungunya with Buzz Off Mosquito patches and After Bite spray
It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to mosquito borne illnesses. Often mosquito repellents have this funky fragrance which makes me unsure about using them on my 2 year old toddler. Creams with repellent properties have chemicals and rubbing them on him looks like a bad idea. However when we got a sample from the Buzz Off brand for stickers, I was more than willing to try them on.
Claims: Buzz Off is a new brand for kids which revolutionizes the Mosquito Repellant industry. This brand provides a wide range of products – ranging from mosquito repellant patches to an ‘After Bite’, itchiness and redness soother pen. The patches are completely natural, DEET free and non toxic and can be conveniently applied onto kids clothes. They come with cute, colourful cartoons printed on them for younger kids and no show camouflaging ones for older children.
Price: The stickers cost 22 INR for 2 and 220 for a box of 20.
Packaging: They are smartly plastic packed in sets of two for easy packaging. Buzz Off comes in a cardboard box.
Pros: The fragrance is not too hard. It is neither too chemical nor too ayurvedic, there is a soft note of fragrance but not the kinds to irritate you.
The patches clearly mention that they should not be used directly on the skin. That makes complete sense as it can irritate the skin. However you can apply them on clothes, shoes, toys or near the bed.
The stickers are the cutest with faces of lion, monkey and a few more cartoon like animals. The ones for elder children have different colour to help camouflage them with their clothes.
The fragrance lasts for two odd days and the mosquito bites were nil despite a walk outdoors and going to a park.
The stick on quality is good.
Buzz Off After Bite Spray: Honestly I tried this only on myself as I was the one who got bitten by a mosquito. The Buzz Off After Bite Spray cools down the sting and reduces the itching immediately on application.
Cons: None that I can think off
