Few days back while checking an e-commerce website I came across Colorbar lipstick priced under INR 300 but I didn’t buy it as I am not very comfortable buying makeup online. I want to try, test and check before I pick up the product.
Two days back I went to a mall with my friend and saw a Colorbar outlet which instantly reminded me of that lipstick. When I asked for those lipsticks the lady at the counter said that they have been discontinued and asked me to check the other range. Being a pink lipstick fan I picked up a shade of pink. I have been using it for a while and here is my take on the product:
Claims: No claims are mentioned on the lipstick but according to the website it features the glamorous properties of a matte lipstick with velvety finish which will make you fall in love. This amazing lipstick has intense colour that is creamy, soft and glides smoothly on application simply moisturising and incredibly wearable yet absolutely matte.
Packaging: The packaging is very attractive. It comes in a beautiful metallic silver body with the brand name written in white.
Price: The biggest problem is that Colorbar doesn’t mention its prices on the products which makes me uncomfortable. And at the mall, initially the sales girl told me INR 450 but later she said the updated amount was INR 500 for the matte ones and didn’t even give me a bill. Left me hassled and uncomfortable!
Pros: The good points about this lipstick are:
- It’s easily available in multiple shades.
- It is a matte shade.
- It doesn’t dry out the lips
- The complete ingredient list is mentioned.
- It stays for 5 to 6 hours without touch up.
- It has a very velvety finish and glides on easily.
- The colour is very bright and nice.
- It contains sun protection.
Cons: I didn’t like few things about this lipstick:
- It settles into the fine lines.
- Single swipe doesn’t cover pigmented lips.
- It is transferable.
- It is expensive as compared to some other good brand available.
- It contains parabens.
- It is transferable.
- The colour won’t suit dusky beauties.
Rating: I would give it 3.5/5 and would not buy it again.
