While looking for a gentle scrub at New U in Delhi, I saw this one by Lotus Herbals called “Whiteglow’. What caught my attention was that it said skin whitening formula. While I wanted a natural based scrub this one with its oatmeal and yogurt fit the bill. PS I also thought that it will be calming and soft on my dry skin.
In summers I tend to use scrubs thrice a week as the skin gets oily and dirty pretty quick. Plus they say that sun screen also creates a layer which should be removed every now and then. Well here is my review of the Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Oatmeal & Yogurt Skin Whitening Scrub:
Claims: WHITEGLOW Oatmeal & Yogurt Skin Whitening Scrub exfoliates the skin gently, removes dirt, impurities, whiteheads and blackheads leaving your skin brighter and healthier with a shining glow. The gentle exfoliating action works on skin discoloration, dull and uneven skin tones and softens the skin giving you a firmer skin texture. Oatmeal exfoliates gently, restores the natural moisture balance of skin and yogurt moisturizes and lightens the skin reducing imperfections giving you silky, smooth and brighter skin.
Price: Modestly priced at Rs 145 for 100g
Packaging: It is packed in white tube with a silver cap which allows you to control the amount you need.
Directions for usage: Gently apply the scrub on moistened skin with brisk circular movements on the face and neck. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Use twice a week for brighter and luminous skin. Follow with WHITEGLOW Yogurt Radiance Mask for best result.
Pros of Lotus Whiteglow Scrub: I have been using this twice a week as it is a bit harsh for my sensitive skin. But I like the oatmeal and yogurt scrub as:
• It brightens as cleanses the skin. The promised whiteglow is more about brightening than whitening!
• Skin scrubbed with Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Oatmeal & Yogurt Skin Whitening Scrub feels cleaner as it removes whiteheads effectively.
• The texture is perfect and doesn’t require you to mix water. Yogurt makes it cool to apply and it spreads well on moist face.
• I like the oatmeal granules which is a change from the common apricot granules found in most other scrubs.
• It is priced reasonably.
• Available at all Lotus counters.
• Can be taken while travelling as the packing is decent and wont leak.
Cons of Lotus Whiteglow Scrub: The scrub surprisingly contains Parabens and I thought Lotus was all about Herbal skin care!
It can be harsh if applied with too much pressure, so be gentle if you don’t want any skin damage.
The whitening claim is not visible on my skin!
Rating : 3.5/5, a decent scrub and alright for daily use.
