After one of team members fell in love with Maybelline’s latest nail paint collection Colour Show (Read our review of Maybelline Kiss me Pink here), I went out to buy the perfect blue to match my Indian wear and ended up buying three. Over the last few weeks I have alternated between these three colours for various parties. And here is my take on Maybelline Colour Show Bold Gold 008, Orange Fix 214 and Ladies Night 006:
Claims: As per the official website it is chip-resistant nail polish formula for bolder colour that just won’t quit.
• Easy-flow brush.
• Formaldehyde, DBP and Toluene free.
How to apply: For best results first apply a clear base coat to prevent your nails from yellowing and
to help your nail colour last longer.
Packaging: It comes in cylindrical glass bottle with a black cap. The brand name, nail paint colour and number in mentioned on the top of the cap.
Price: It is priced at INR 75 for 6ml.
Pros: The shades of Maybelline Colour Show are perfect for use:
Bold Gold is a nice matte-ish golden shade which looks classy and heavenly on nails.
Orange Fix is a light tangerine orange and looks soft and pretty.
Ladies Night is an out and out bright electric blue that makes the hands look brighter.
- While Bold Gold and Ladies Night apply evenly in single coat. Orange Fix requires two coats to look perfect and pretty.
- The nail paint dries out quickly.
- Without a top and base coat the nail paint stays for a week or more and doesn’t chip. With a base coat I have actually applied Ladies Night for 2 weeks without chipping!
- The finish of these nail paints stands out with its perfect gel like finish, your manicure looks glossy and parlour perfect!
- The quality offered for this price is great.
- Easily available at all cosmetic stores including local retailers too though most of them run out of shades!
- The nail paint did not yellow my nails.
- The dates of manufacture and expiry details are mentioned on the bottle.
Cons: I can’t deny these are my current favourite at the moment except the retailers always seem to run out of shades.
