Biotique’s skin care range especially for monsoons is a hit
We all love rains but with rain comes humidity that makes the skin oily and sticky. This is when a good skin care routine comes to our rescue and controls the oil secretion from pores and keeps the skin matte.
Just when I was thinking of buying a few monsoon skin care products, I got a package from Biotique which had some interesting products apt for this humid weather. Since Biotique is a known ayurvedic brand and in the past I have used multiple products from the brand I decided to include them in my skin care regime.
Currently I am using Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser, Bio Aloevera sunscreen lotion, Bio cucumber pore tightening toner and Bio Peach ( a clarifying and refining peel off mask) and here is my review about them
Oil Control Foaming Face Cleanser
Claims: This fresh-foaming, 100% soap-free cleansing gel is blended with extracts of pineapple, neem leaves, euphorbia plant and clove oil to dissolve makeup, purge pores and purify the complexion.
Price: It is priced at INR 149 for 120 ml.
My experience: The light yellow face wash is semi-runny which is why little amount is required. It cleanses the face and keeps it oil free for two to three hours but doesn’t remove the makeup completely . It has a soothing pineapple fragrance. The packaging is sturdy but not travel-friendly because of its size.
Bio Aloe vera sunscreen lotion SPF30
Claims: This nutrient-rich lotion is blended with pure aloe vera, sunflower and safflower oils to keep skin soft, fair and moisturized in the sun. Protects skin with broad spectrum SPF 30 UVA/UVB sunscreen.
Price: It is priced at INR 290 for 120 ml.
My experience: Its not thick and feels light on the skin. It does make the skin sticky or oily which makes it idea for normal to oily skin beauties. It comes in a plastic cylindrical bottle with a round opening. The cap is screwed securely to it avoiding any spillage. It is good for daily use and can be used as a moisturizer too.
Bio cucumber pore tightening toner
Claims: This refreshing pore tightening and bring the complexion into perfect ph balance and help keep the skin in its purest state.
Price: It is priced at INR 175 for 120 ml.
My experience: It has a very strong smell of alcohol or spirit so people with a sensitive nose should avoid this one. It cleans the pores well , gives a cooling effect and removes the makeup residue. Though I haven’t seen any changes on pores or skin texture but I would still recommend it to oily skin beauties.
Bio Peach – a clarifying and refining peel off mask
Claims: This exfoliating mask is blended with extracts of Peach, Plum, cucumber, Cabbage, Neem and Quince Seed to deep-cleanse skin and purify pores. Its peel-off action lifts embedded impurities, refines skin texture and clears the way for lighter, brighter skin to surface.
Price: It is priced at INR 199 for 50 grams
How to use: Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck and let it dry. Now peel it off and rinse your face to get rid of last traces. It can be used daily too.
My experience: It has a very strong smell which stings the eyes too. It tingles on the skin but as it starts to dry it vanishes. Once it gets dry, it peels off easily and gives you a fresh face minus the oiliness & dullness. It has a tub packaging which is quite unhygienic as every time you have to put your hand or brush in the tub.Also the tub top keeps sticking to the cap and leads to product wastage as a lot of product gets spilled on the rim and below. A tube would have been more efficient.
All Biotique products are easily available. If you don’t want to invest in a very expensive brand than this is the right choice as it organic and easy on the pocket too.
