Just like your face, hands and feet also need protection from sun to avoid tanning and sunburns, so a SPF lotion is very essential. I have been a loyal user of Lotus sunscreen since school days. Normally for hands and feet I prefer Vaseline healthy white range or the Lotus sunscreen lotions but this time I thought of trying something new so picked up a Lotus White Glow lotion. I have been using it from past fifteen days and here’s my take on the product.
Claims: The product claims to Lightens: It lightens skin tone by reducing uneven pigmentation, Whitens: It unveils visibly fairer skin by reducing dark spots and Brightens: It enhances skin’s radiance naturally.
Price: INR 295 for a 300ml bottle.
Packaging: It’s white in colour and comes in a beautiful white plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The best thing is that it has a lock feature too which makes it easy to carry (for holidays and stuff it is too big to carry in your handbag).
Pros: I like Lotus White Glow because of the following reasons:
· It gets easily absorbed in the skin makes it soft and smooth.
· It’s not very oily and greasy. Plus it works well on my oily skin too.
· Removes dryness and moisturises the skin well.
· Just one dispensed pump is enough for my hands and arms, so it will not finish anytime soon!
· It’s not expensive for the quantity offered.
· The packaging is very hygienic.
· Provides SPF 25 and PA+++ protection.
· It contains green and grape extracts which are anti-aging.
· The fragrance is very nice.
It’s easily available.
Cons: It doesn’t fulfill its claims completely; I didn’t find any change in my skin tone nor did it reduced uneven pigmentation or dark spots.
· It contains methylparaben which when applied on the skin may react with UVB leading to increased skin aging and DNA damage.
Rating: I would it give it 3/5. (It works well as a normal mosturiser but do not expect it to have great results.)
