While browsing Sephora in Select Citywalk, Delhi, I came across this dark rose coloured deep pink by NYX. I liked NYX Bloody Mary so much I wanted it in my stash immediately but unfortunately it was always out of stock, this was in December last year.
A few weeks back Sephora finally re-stocked the shade I was able to indulge in it. Yes, it’s a perfect winter shade but with minimal makeup one can pull it off in summers too. Here’s my review of the NYX Matte Lipstick Bloody Mary:
Claims: NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put in a matte finish. From Pure Red to Nude, Matte Lipsticks are available in a variety of rich shades.
Packaging: The lipstick is packaged in a beautiful plastic black and transparent tube. You can see the colour in the middle.
Price: I got mine for 530 INR from Sephora.
Pros: The NYX Matte Lipstick in Bloody Mary is perfect dark rose tinted pink.
- It is the perfect shade of deep pink, it is dark deep pink without any glitter or shine which makes it loud and beautiful.
- It looks perfect on Indian skin tones. Though subtle makeup is the key to pull off this look.
- Doesn’t bleed or get stuck in fine lines on the lips.
- The matte doesn’t dry my lips. It is easy to apply and doesn’t tug my lips.
- Stays put for a 3-4 hours. And fades down to tint consistency.
- If you apply it with a light hand it looks tinted. Though it is highly pigmented.
- It is value for money.
- They feel great on my lips and I like that they have a wide variety of colors available.
Cons: None, except availability is a big issue. Sephora, Delhi has a limited stock of NYX which is restocked. It took me almost 6 months to buy this shade which can be a big hassle.
Rating: 4.5/5, availability of NYX is a major issue.
