Melania Trump truly knows how to belt perfectly:
We hardly know much about US first lady Melania Trump, what we know is that she loves belts. As per her, the best waist is a cinched waist. She belts jackets, she belts dresses, and she even belts jumpsuit. We have observed this in her public appearances in India over the past two days.
On the first day, she wore a sash made out of green silk and gold metallic thread over a crème crepe jumpsuit designed by Atelier Catio for Herve Pierre.
According to designer Rahul Misra, “this (the sash) is her very strong, visual signature statement and she is a very stylish lady. It is almost like how Anna Wintour often wears something that is fitted around the waist. The First Lady is extremely fit and is known for wearing statement belts in the past too.
In her Day 2 look, she was seen in a white cotton shirtdress with floral, thread work embroidery by designer Carolina Herrera. She belted it with a vibrant red belt to create a form-flattering silhouette.
Waist details and belts usually act as an optical illusion. By adding a belt to your outfit, you frame your waist and make it look smaller, adding shape and form to your outfit as well.
Designed Neeta Lulla said: “It (a waist belt) is a statement that adds elegant focal attention to a more feminine silhouette. In this way, the silhouette has the girth that keeps her comfortable, and yet looks stylish. Cinched waist details such as a belt accentuate the classic hourglass shape.
