Get your summer kurti game on!
Come summer and we all long to wear easy breezy clothes. Some prefer cotton and other look for linens. A kurti is one of my favourite summer wear as it is comfy, pretty and loose to make you comfortable in this heat. While kurits have been in trend for a decade now, their styles keep evolving. From the collared ones, to digital print ones, kurtis have come a long way.
- Mulmul kurtis
Mulmul is a beautiful cloth. It is thin, breathable and a great summer fabric. Kareena was spotted wearing a soft white mulmul kurti and it has become all rage. The biggest plus point, mulmul is cheap at 50 to 100 INR per meter.
- Digital prints
Digital prints have been going strong for a few seasons now. The reason is simple, they add an element to your outfit. Masaba spearheaded quirky digital prints with her cow and owl prints but now kurti giants like W and Biba too have exclusive digital collections.
- Ikat
With the coming back of Indian textile styles, Ikat is slowly making it back as a trend. While it is no longer the traditional Ikat textile, it is now mass produced, computer enabled ikat which is cheaper than its original counterpart and easy to produce. Ikat provides a simplicity yet class to an outfit.
-
Indigo
Indigo is probably making the biggest headlines this summer, it is a beautiful shade of blue and the markets are filled with Indigo kurtis, from stores to street markets. Indigo is a deep hade of blue and right now you will spot it on many kurtis.
- Racerback kurti
This one is for the fusion loving babe. A racer back adds an element of spunk to that boring old kurti while making it comfortable for wear during the summer heat.
