With cold winter months coming near, so is the quintessential winter wardrobe staple: boots. Though many of us buy expensive boots but they do not last long. This is because most shoe stores buy inferior quality boots at exorbitant prices. Buying boots can be a tough task but here are a few ways to find a perfect pair:
Know your legs: Though this sounds funny but most women ape others when buying boots. But a short woman with thick legs can look stumpy in long boots, whereas ankle booties may look funny on a tall woman.
Try different styles: Not sure about the kind of legs you got? Try on as many pair of boots before zeroing in on a pair. Take along your friend and ask the store assistant to help. Remember that you should wear the boots not vice versa.
Buy branded: Buying from a shoe store with great discounts might be a bad idea in the long run. A high-end, premium brand is a good investment option and the boots will last longer. Branded boots are warmer and more comfortable too.
Material matters: Suede lookalike velvet and plastic leather can often rip and tear within the first few weeks of wearing. Quality suede and leather last long.
Look at the lining: A lot of us love the boots by looking at the exterior but the interior is also important. The lining of a boot must be warm, seamless and attached to the sole.
Classic styles: The pointy toes, glitter overload or fur boots might be in this season but they will be a waste later. Pick a style which is wearable and adaptable. Also do not try to buy knee or thigh length boots as the look good on only two women models and strippers!
Take-alongs: While going boot shopping take two pairs of socks, one thin ones and one woollen ones. Also trim your nails before trying on boots.
