Your monthly friend can at times be painful and crampy! Periods pain is at times so bad that many women prefer not going to work, etc. Here are few methods of banishing period pain.
Heat: “A heating pad is my best friend whenever I have my periods,” says 25 year old, journalist Aakriti Jain. Like her many women swear by heat pads as heat relieves pain and pressure from the lower abdomen. Hot water baths also help relieve period pain.
Go for a walk: Go for a brisk 20-minute walk. Walking or exercising releases endorphins in the body that eliminates menstrual pain. Keep the exercises easy and avoid strenuous workout or abdominal exercises.
If your period pain still persists go to a doctor.
Pain killers: The most obvious and easy way to banish period pain pop a pill. Most OTC medicines have no side effects. They relax your lower abdomen muscles, which ensures proper flow minus the cramps. Ask your gynecologist to prescribe you a painkiller.
Sex: As yucky as it sounds sex has been medically proven to relieve cramps and menstrual pain. Orgasm releases the pressure which makes you cramp and makes the uterus relax. For hygiene reasons do it in the shower with a condom on to avoid any diseases.
Tea: Milk tea, elachi tea, masala chai or green tea. The options are endless. Tea helps relieve constipation and abdominal pain. Many women do get constipated during periods. Have a warm cup of tea.
Get your greens: A recent study suggests that women who take an iron rich diet do not PMS and have lesser pain while chumming. So eat that palak quick.
