Here is news to rejoice for women who prefer to have their babies late.
A study published by the Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre says that women who give birth to children 15 years after their periods begun are at a lower risk for developing breast cancer.
The study also highlighted that the risk lessens by almost 60 per cent as compared to women who have their babies early.
The study also reported that breast feeding helps protect against certain forms of breast cancer too. Many women who have babies often forget about the benefits breast feeding provides both to the mother and the baby.
The study involved about 2,000 women between 20 to 44, some with a history of breast cancer.
