Mango oats ice cream
Kids love icecream and mango is every kids’ favorite fruit and by adding oats to the ice cream it solves every mother’s healthy dessert problem.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe mango
- 1 cup powdered oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup milk powder
- Powdered almonds
- 1 tablespoon Honey
Method
- Heat milk and add milk powder. Add oats powder and mix well.
- Once cool add the honey, mango pulp and powdered almonds.
- Mix well and store in a airtight container.
- Freeze for 6-7 hours.
- Serve with some almonds and honey on top.
Curd Oats
It’s said that you first eat food with eyes so if the food looks tempting , it becomes easier for you to make your kid have it. This amazing tasty bowl directly from the south Indian kitchen with tangy curd and a little spicy flavour is hard to resist.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Cooked Oats
- 2 cups Curd
- 1 Green Chilli finely chopped
- Finely chopped Coriander leaves to garnish
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Roasted dry peanuts
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 5 to 8 Curry Leaves
Method:
- Boil some water and add a little salt to taste (never use salt after adding oats)
- Mix cooked oats with well beaten curd
- Add green chilli pepper to taste. Mix up well.
- Now heat a tsp of oil.
- Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida , green chillies and curry leaves to the oil.
- Pour this over oats and curd mixture.
- Garnish with roasted peanuts and coriander leaves
- Serve it in normal temperature
Banana oat honey ice cream
No matter how hard you try, the little ones never eat healthy food without doing a little drama. So, why not add fruits and healthy Quaker Oats to ice-cream? This works ladies. And this easy 3 ingredient recipe is a great option.
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1 cup oats divided in half
- 2 table spoon honey
Method:
- Chop the banana and freeze in a air tight bag for 4-5 hours.
- After 5 hours, soak half oats in boiled water. Drain after 2 minutes and strain.
- Toast the remaining oats on a non stick pan.
- In a food processor mix the frozen banana, boiled oats and honey. Blitz on high till you see a creamy mixture. Add the toasted oats for last one minute.
- Serve immediately.
Oats saffron Kheer
Colours and aroma does magic with kids. This Oats Saffron Kheer is a rich combination of aromatic saffron,healthy oats, roasted dry fruits and kid’s enemy milk. This super tasty dessert guarantees you to see the finger licking act of your kid who at times throws away the bowl of oats and milk.
Ingredients
- Quaker oats 1 cup
- Skimmed milk 3 cups
- Almonds 8-10
- Cashew nuts – 8-10
- Raisins – 5-8
- Honey 4 tablespoons
- Cardamom seeds 10-15
- 2 tbsp oil {not ghee}
- 1 tbsp saffron
Method
- Roast the Quaker oats for three minutes.
- Boil the milk with saffron, almonds, cashew nuts, raisins and Cardamom seeds for around seven minutes
- Add sugar to this milk
- When milk starts getting thick, add healthy Quaker oats and cook for about ten minutes.
- Keep stirring to avoid lumps.
- Season with roasted dry fruits and half finely chopped apple.
- Serve hot in big bowls.
Oats Paneer Masala
Gone are the days of Shahi Paneer, Paneer masala with oddles of butter. Here comes the healthier way to have paneer. Just a little twist can do wonders.
Ingredients
- 1 small onion(chopped)
- 1 small tomato (chopped)
- 4 tablespoon of oats
- 1 small green chilli(optional)
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 100 grams of paneer
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Water: 1 small cup
Method
- Heat oil in a pan and then add cumin seeds and chopped tomatoes.
- Now add the tomatoes , green chilli , turmeric , salt and oats.
- Add water and let the oats cook for 3 minutes .
- At last add mashed paneer and mix well.
*You can use this as a stuffing too.
Summer Oats Raita
Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 2 cups of probiotic curd
- A few mint leaves
- 1 cucumber peeled and grated
- ¼ lockey (bottle gourd) peeled and grated
- Salt
- Pepper
Method:
- In boiled water add oats, cucumber and lockey. Keep for 15 minutes.
- Drain and cool.
- Beat curd add chopped mint leaves, salt, pepper.
- Add the cooled oats, cucumber and lockey. Mix well.
- Served chilled.
