Your feet are an amazing diagnostic tool. They constantly give a lot of warning signals so that you can run to doctor without delay. Many of us are unaware of the symptoms given by our body. Here are some most common symptoms, alarmed by your feet. Check and better don’t ignore what your feet say:
Cold Feet
May be: Hypothyroidism
Always searching for socks? You have to give your body a check as this could be hypothyroidism, an internal disorder in which the thyroid does not produce sufficient hormones that helps to normalize metabolism. A lethargic metabolism can show your body’s ability to generate heat, causing your hands and feet to remain constantly cold.
Yellow Toenails
May be: Yellow nail syndrome
The yellowing of nails is usually a treatable fungus. But in uncommon cases it could be a sign of respiratory problems and lymphedema (a condition where arms or legs get swell). This condition is more vulnerable with diabetic people and persons with immune-deficiency disorders as this is generally ignored until it starts paining. Run to doctor in initial stage itself as it may spread to all the nails and sometimes even fingernails.
Foot Drop
May be: A tumor
If you are unable to raise the foot upward from the heels then it clearly signals nerve or muscle damage in the northern part of your feet. There may be pain and numbness, generally only one foot gets affected. Immediately contact doctor for this serious symptom.
Enlarged Big Toe
May be: Gout
Gout is the most painful forms of arthritis, it occurs when the body’s level of uric acid increase to the point at which sharp crystals mount up in joints. And for reasons that remain vague, uric acid deposits often develop in the joint of the big toe.
Foot Cramps
May be: Dehydration
While a common cause of foot cramps is nutrition deficiency, it can also be caused if you’re not drinking ample amount of water. Normally, an imbalance of body minerals can also sharply contract your foot muscle, so intake of essential minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium is highly recommended.
