Every year, Haryana Tourism takes an initiative to promote the uniqueness of
India’s Crafts and Culture in a rural Indian specially setting created at Surajkund.
This craft fair provides a platform to more than hundreds of artisans to display their
excellence in handicrafts and handlooms. Visited not only by locals but also by many
foreign tourists, the Surajkund Crafts Mela originally began as a combined effort by
both Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism for craftsmen and weavers
to directly market their exquisites to buyers thus eliminating middlemen and cheap
machine-made imitations in the process. Goa was chosen as the theme state and
Sri Lanka, as the partner nation for this year’s 28th Surajkund International Craft.
