The Prince of Cambridge is here and its celebration time worldwide. Kate and William are ecstatic over the birth and the world media is waiting for more information to trickle in. Here are a few unknown facts about the royal baby who is destined to be Britain’s future king
Royal baby to king: The royal baby is third-in-line to throne behind Prince Charles and Prince William. According to the new laws of monarchy the babyshall be titled Prince and addressed to as His or Her Royal Highness and will someday become the king. The Royal baby will be christened with Cambridge, Wales or Mountbatten-Windsor.
Zodiac King: The royal baby was born on July 22 and is a Cancerian but many astrologers say he will have traits of both Cancer and Leo. Interestingly his late-grandmother Lady Diana and dad Prince William are also Cancerian.
Royal Grandchild: The royal baby is Prince Charles’s first grandchild. But he is Queen’s third great-grandchild. Interestingly, it’s been 120 years since a still-serving monarch was alive to see the birth of his or her great-grandchild. He is also Kate’s parents Michael and Carole’s first grandchild.
Economic boom: The world has gone gaga over the royal baby with the international media covering every second of the birth, celebrations, etc. Economists say the baby will inject $380 million into the UK economy.
Daddy dearest: Prince William was present when Kate went into labour and gave birth. Now Prince William has taken a two week maternity leave as he and Duchess Kate plan on becoming hands on parents. And William has admitted never to have changed a nappy but will learn now.
Royal celebration: Welsh Composer Paul Mealor, who wrote a special piece for royal wedding in 2011, has written a special lullaby ‘Sleep On’ for the royal heir. Royal births are traditionally celebrated with a 41-gun salute by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery.
Godparents galore: Royal babies have five or six godparents, and the top contenders for this new role include Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton and James Middleton. William and Kate may also consider William’s school friend Thomas van Straubenzee, or the van Cutsem brothers, Hugh and Nicholas.
Betting on it: In UK bets about he baby’s name were placed and George, Charles, Philip and James emerged as favourites for a boy. In fact since the announcement of Kate’s pregnancy bets about the gender of the baby, name, weight, height and eye colour have been placed at many places.
