Goa PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Tuesday demanded a ban on bikinis to prevent molestation cases in the state known for its beaches. He said that bikinis are not mandatory to swim in the sea and women wearing bikini should be banned from beaches in Goa, “Why are bikinis required on beaches? During the earlier days, there were no bikinis. I remember even till 90s, people were not wearing bikinis on beaches”.
Earlier he also said that scantily dressed girls visiting pubs project a wrong culture and young girls wearing short dresses to pubs does not fit in our culture.
Team AAW thinks that Goa is a prominent tourist destination on the global map known for its beaches such bans will surely the tourism industry.
