Bombay high court has ordered that a widow has a right to be maintained by her father-in-law after her husband’s death.
The ruled has been passed out after a Mumbai resident was allegedly driven out of her matrimonial home by her in-laws after her husband died. After twelve years high court has ordered that she has a right in not only the property left by her husband but also that owned by her father-in-law.
This is not just a story of one house but many especially in villages. After the husband’s death the girl is thrown out of the house and is given no share in the property. She is left with no other option but to return to his parents’ house but this rule is a relief for all those who has been been through the same torture.
