The classic case of the ‘disconnected with reality’ neta happened yet again. The president’s son Abhijeet Mukherjee had a serious tongue in cheek moment, his quote on women being ‘dented and painted’ raises questions about his upbringing and the people who voted for him.
Yesterday, in leau of the protests against rapes, Abhijeet Mukherjee said “What’s basically happening in Delhi is a lot like Egypt or elsewhere, where there’s something called the spring revolution. Women who are participating in candlelight vigils and those who are protesting have no connection with ground reality. These pretty ladies coming out to protest are ‘highly dented and painted, they’re giving interviews on TV, they’ve brought their children to show them the scenes. I have grave doubts whether they’re students, because women of that age are generally not students.”
Most people were shocked at his outrageous comments and took to social media to voice their opnion. Here are a few reactions:
Sonam Kapoor: What a dimwit .RT @ndtv: President’s son Abhijit Mukherjee apologises for his remarks, says his comments were not meant to hurt anyone.
