In a shameful and shocking incident a 20-year-old college girl was gang raped and then set on fire in a village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The girl was admitted to the UP Rural Institute of Medical Science in the town of Saifai with 80 percent burn injuries.
No arrests have been made as the accused hail from influential families and the police had initially tried to hush up the matter. But after the intervention of the senior officers a case had been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and a hunt is on.
It’s really disturbing to see that even after so much protest after the Delhi gang rape , the crime against women hasn’t decreased. Every day we come across different cases of crime against women.
Lack of fear of punishment is the main reason behind such heinous crimes. The government should make strict laws against such crimes that a person should not dare to commit such acts.
