Check out some ways to prepare yourself for the ongoing pandemic:
Looking at how rapidly coronavirus is growing in India, it seems impossible to stay away from it. Instead, we must prepare ourselves while we step outside our home. In every Indian household at least 2-3 members are going outside regularly, which makes it impossible to stay safe from the virus. Since, I have had a very close experience of coronavirus, my dad was diagnosed with it, here are some ways to prepare yourself for it and stay safe:
-
Look out for symptoms
Be a little careful while looking for symptoms. watch out for the initial ones and check your symptoms daily.
Initial symptoms are:
- Fever that keeps coming randomly and vanishes. The sudden appearance and disappearance of fever is a symptom of coronavirus.
- Headache and body ache
- Loss of smell or taste
- Diarrhea
Major symptoms:
- Heavy breath
- Difficulty in breathing
- Dry cough

Consult a doctor
Many people are not visiting doctors even if they have normal flu. Well, if you have 2 or more above mentioned symptoms then there are chances that you have SARS-CoV-2 virus. And going outside or visiting a doctor won’t make you more infected than you already are. So consult a doctor to get the correct treatment.
-
Look after medication
Covid-19 does not have any direct medication. So, doctors are prescribing the same set of medicines depending on the symptoms.
The most common ones are:
- Dexamethasone
- Ivermectin
- Azithromycin
- Limcee (Vit-C)
- COVID-19 testing
There are mostly 2 types of testing going on: The Rapid Antigen test, and the RT-PCR tests. The RT-PCR tests are the best ones right now, which costs around ₹2300-2700 if you test via private labs. The Rapid Tests are cheaper, and give results in 30 minutes, though, it might give false negatives.

Some important things to do
By the time you check your symptoms, get tested, and visit a doctor, it will take around 3-5 days. Since every day is crucial start doing certain things once you develop symptoms:
Gargle 2-3 times a day, drink kadha and hot water, consume turmeric, avoid cold foods and drink, wear masks, and maintain social distancing.
-
Instruments
Having a thermometer, the pulse oximeter is important if you don’t have it right now. In case you experience any symptoms then go and buy these instruments. If one percent, you feel like you might have the infection, don’t wait just get yourself tested.
