Kashmir Terror Attack: 26 Killed, Here’s How the World Reacted

The world is mourning and reacting strongly to a brutal terror attack that shook Kashmir, leaving at least 26 people dead and many more injured. The incident, which occurred yesterday, targeted civilians and security personnel in one of the deadliest attacks the region has seen in recent years.

While investigations are still underway, early reports suggest a well-coordinated assault by militants — an act that has drawn immediate international outrage and concern.

Multiple rounds of gunfire echoed through Baisaran Valley as a group of terrorists emerged from the nearby forest and opened indiscriminate fire on a crowd — primarily tourists — gathered in the area. Moments later, the attackers vanished back into the woods.

The region’s Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, described the attack as “far more severe than any we’ve witnessed against civilians in recent years.” Reports indicate a high number of injuries, with several victims in critical condition.

Amid the chaos, heartbreaking visuals and survivor accounts surfaced, capturing the horror of the attack, as reported by India Today. In one video, a woman can be seen in tears, desperately pleading for her husband’s life. “Save my husband, please,” she repeats, her voice breaking as emotion overwhelms her, the rest of her words drowned by sobs.

Another survivor recounted that she was eating bhelpuri when a gunman approached and shot her husband. “He told my husband he wasn’t a Muslim and then shot him,” she told.

In a separate video, a woman is seen attending to a severely injured man lying on the ground. “Sir, please, please, please ask for help,” she begs, her voice shaking with urgency.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers fired at close range, targeting tourists and leaving several people wounded.

“My husband was shot in the head, and seven others were also injured,” one woman over the phone.

The incident took place in Pahalgam, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. Officials confirmed that at least 12 tourists were injured, and several fatalities are feared in what is being described as a brutal terrorist attack
