Going for a fun vacation to a different time zone can wreck havoc you’re your system. Crossing time zones usually makes begins jet lag but there are a few way to avoid it. If you are planning a trip don’t let jet lag spoil your fun, follow these tips and banish jet lag:

Water: During the flight the free alcohol is very tempting. But it always triggers het lag on landing. So avoid the alcohol and stick to water. Dehydration is one of the biggest reasons for jetlag and the dry cabins, recycled air suck the water out of your body. Buy a bottle after security clearance or take an empty plastic one with you.

Sleep during the flight: Workout the your landing time, if you will reach in evening or afternoon try to stay awake. This helps mimic the sleep patterns at your destination. But if you are landing early in the daytime then sleep during the flight, as you need to feel refreshed on arriving.

Leg stretches: The cramped space in planes doesn’t do any good to the body. Sitting cramped for hours at a stretch also ups chances of jet lag. Get up and stretch your legs after every 20 minutes or so during the flight. This will get the blood moving in your legs also swing your arms. While sitting move your ankles and wrists in slow circles.

Exercise: Fresh air and adrenaline rush help restart your confused body clock. On the first morning after landing have an intense exercise session. Or head to the beach or mountain trail for a nature walk.

Alarm clock: reset your body clock by using the alarm clock to get up at the local timings. Do not use the snooze button, keep the alarm clock at the opposite end of the room to get up. Put an alarm at your sleep timing too.

Managing jet lag does take some time. Some people also swear by curd or flavored yogurt to help the overcome jet lag. But being prepared on how to tackle it will help you.
