Their crime killed an innocent and scared women of moving out at late . When on the cold foggy December 16th night Nirbhaya was brutally raped and left to die, little did the rapists know that they will also get punished. The court today after deferring the punishment sentence twice finally pronounced death sentence for all four convicts(Mukesh Singh, Akshay Thakur, Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma ) in the Delhi gang-rape case.
The mother of the brave-heart still says they have a long way to go as the accused have decided to move to High Court to challenge this punishment. The father wanted to thank the media and police for helping solve and fast track the case. The judge while giving the verdict said that this is a rare case and gruesome crimes against women are on the rise.
We at AAW are happy with the come-out but this is just one step. Many more to go. We also feel no court should be allowed to change the decisions and verdict of a special court or else it will become a never ending cycle.
