Security concern rises against Shilpa Shetty’s posh restaurant Bastian after thieves cunningly drive aways ₹80 lakh worth of BMW from Parking
A luxurious BMW Z4 convertible worth a whopping ₹80 lakh was stolen right from the valet parking lot of actress Shilpa Shetty’s high-end restaurant, Bastian, in Mumbai’s Dadar area. The audacious incident, which has left the city buzzing, raises big questions about the security measures at some of Mumbai’s most elite dining spots.
The event unfolded in the early hours of Sunday! Ruhan Khan, a 34-year-old businessman from Bandra, arrived at Bastian for a late night with friends. Trusting his beloved BMW to the valet as any customer would, Khan headed inside, expecting his car to be waiting safely in the basement when he returned.
However, when the evening wound down around 4 a.m., Khan discovered his prized ride was missing! Needless to say, he was stunned. As he pieced together the shock, it became clear his car had simply vanished from what he assumed was a secure parking area.
CCTV footage reveals just how smoothly the theft went down with the robbers executing their plan like seasoned pros. Minutes after the valet parked the BMW, two individuals drove up in a Jeep Compass, appearing quite calm and collected. In a matter of moments, they managed to unlock the luxury vehicle, likely using advanced electronic hacking methods, and then drove away like they owned the place.
The footage has everyone talking about how the thieves pulled off the heist so quickly and whether Bastian’s parking security measures were up to scratch. In response, Khan filed a formal complaint (an FIR) with the Shivaji Park Police Station. Officials are now combing through nearby surveillance footage in hopes of tracking down the stolen BMW and identifying the tech-savvy culprits behind this high-profile robbery.
Bastian, a fine dining experience on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square, is frequented by many Bollywood celebrities and high-profile guests. The incident has raised serious concerns among patrons about the security of valet services at luxury venues. Khan himself voiced frustration, emphasizing the need for tighter safeguards to prevent future incidents.
Police have classified the crime under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, indicating the gravity of the offense. While Shilpa Shetty has yet to release a statement, this shocking theft has drawn attention to the security standards expected at high-profile restaurants. For patrons, it serves as a reminder that even a night out at the city’s most lavish spots can have a twist – sometimes an unexpected one.
