Chandigarh postal division has decided to introduce ‘Rakhi Mail Box’ during this pandemic.
Coronavirus has not only changed the way we live but also how we celebrate our festivals. Rakhi is around the corner in India but people are not as delighted as they used to be. Many have safety concerns and others will not be able to travel as freely due to restrictions. Many people have decided to send rakhi by post as it is the most feasible option right now.
The Chandigarh postal division has decided to introduce Rakhi Mail Box separately in their post offices to make sure there is minimum interaction during this pandemic. These post offices have been receiving rakhis from different parts of the world as Raksha Bandhan is around the corner.
Manoj Yadav, Senior Superintendent Post Offices of Chandigarh Division, said that special arrangements have been made to ensure that rakhis reach people on time. They have also arranged for a special drive on 2nd August, a day before rakhi for the same reason.
The Rakhis will also be sent out internationally through speed post only.
