Understanding International Women’s day theme 2016 #PledgeForParity

All About Women was created to celebrate women every day. We women are free in our wildness, we dance doing our daily chores as homemakers, that swing in our waist is enough to kill anyone . . . We know that grace is fashionable and being brave is glamorous.

Let us recall that we are already in the 21st century where EVERY woman walks holding a world with her. March 8 is the festival of womanhood, setting aside all religious, cultural and class barriers. Each year, International women’s day comes with a theme to spark awareness among individuals, world forums etc. to take actions as contribution of women in each aspect of development whether it is social, economical or political can’t be ignored.
The 2016 theme declared is pledge for parity, to create a room for gender equality. People (men and women both) are pledging globally for purposeful actions to accelerate a gender balanced relationship . . . at home and at workplace.
Talking about such important issues is easy; taking initiative for bringing a change is need of the time. Before going global, start local because it is the effort of several small steps that builds a sky-scrapper. So the question is how to start? Believe me you don’t need to put in extra time and efforts to change things just move:

Be like Manisha Koirala
There are people around us who are continuously chanting about feminism and gender equality without knowing what it is. Manisha Koirala’s hired a woman bodyguard as she thinks that women can safeguard each other. Start from within, set an example like Koirala.

Woman bodyguard !! Only a woman can safeguard each other .. Starts within a family n then spreads in society

Teach the future of nation
Starting with roots is something we all can do by sitting in homes with our cute ones. Act as a teacher before your toddlers. Teach them to do every chore without making a difference of what a man should do and what a woman. Kids are like wet soil, we can give them desired shape. Make your creation the gender-neutral one.
Be bold like Deepika Pallikal and Kangana Ranaut
The ladies who raised voice against inequality. They are the achievers sitting on the equal chair as their colleagues, sweating equally but getting paid less than what they deserve. There are such things happening before us but we are keeping mum, but these two decided to protest without giving shit to the authorities who could have snatched everything from them. Kangana could not get few films due to her statement of getting less pay as compared to male actors but her step threw light on such issue and at least created a scope for change.
Same way, famous squash player Deepika Pallikal marked her protest by opting out of national squash championship due to unfair prize allocation. Here, man winner would win a prize of INR 1,20,000 where woman winner would after sweating equally win only INR 50,000. Deepika is currently ranked as 18th best squash players and her stand was not only about money but all about breaking federation’s sexist mindset. We salute both of you!!!
Stop believing in cultural norms which devalue girls
How to be good girl is what we have learned all through life. Still there are many self-made traditions, rules present that bind us in an invisible (and illogical) chain. Rather than sticking yourself to mindsets which you don’t understand, create your own world where YOU COMPLETELY BELIEVE. Go to the place of worship while you bleed because logically you are going to carry a baby on that impure thing. If god hated woman on periods he would have pinged her on whatsapp giving pregnancy news.
Value yourself and the world will value you.
