Since childhood we know that brushing our teeth twice a day keeps the dentist away. But as we enter teens many of use toothpaste on our faces to zap that awful pimple. Here are some unusual uses of toothpaste which make household chores simple and quicker.

Clean up your fingernails: The ingredients in toothpaste works as cleaning agent for finger nails too. For cleaner, shinier, and stronger nails, simply scrub the underneath and tops of fingernails with an old toothbrush and toothpaste.

Removes smell:  Rubbing toothpaste on your hands and fingers helps to get rid of odour of pungent food like garlic, fish and onion. It also removes the sour-milk smell from baby bottles.

Stain remover: Toothpaste helps clean tough stains from clothes and carpets. For clothes, apply toothpaste paste directly on the stain and rub briskly until the spot is gone. For carpet stains, apply toothpaste to the stain and scrub with a brush and rinse immediately. Besides clothes it also helps in removing crayon stains from the painted walls.

Make silver jewellery sparkle: Silver turns black after some time and needs polishing to retain its shine. Toothpaste is simple and easily available polish to make your silver jewellery sparkling at home. Rub toothpaste onto jewellery and leave overnight and in the morning, wipe it with a soft cloth. You can use it on diamonds too. Gently scrub toothpaste with a brush for a while and rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of toothpaste.

Clean scratches from CD’s: The technique works well on shallow scratches and smudges. Simply apply a thin coat of toothpaste to the disc, rub gently and then clean. It works equally well on mobile screen scratches too.
